Both approaches solve the same problem. The difference is where the minerals are added and how much say you have in it.

The case for a cartridge
It is automatic. Fit it, and every litre from that purifier is treated without anyone thinking about it — which matters in a household where not everyone will remember to dose their glass.
The case for drops
Control and reach. You decide the dose, you can treat any water anywhere — a bottle at work, a jug at a relative's house, water from a filter that has no mineral stage — and you can see exactly how much product you have left.
That last point is underrated. A depleting cartridge gives no signal. It simply releases less and less until someone checks the service schedule. A bottle of drops visibly runs low.
Cost
Compare on cost per litre treated rather than sticker price. A cartridge has a replacement cost and a service interval; a concentrate has a dose rate and a bottle size. Work out what each treats per rupee over a year — that is the only comparison that means anything.
Which should you choose?
Cartridge if you want it invisible and automatic and will keep to a replacement schedule. Drops if you want control, portability, and a product whose remaining life you can actually see.
